The course teaches you

The Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) is the foundation. The Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) adds restricted training.

Read the guide

The licence authorizes you

PAL is the government-issued licence. Course results are supporting documents for your application.

The firearm has a class

Non-restricted, restricted and prohibited are legal categories. Appearance alone does not settle the category.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Your questions, answered.

What will it cost?

Separate the instructor’s price from the government fee.

Read the guide

Where do I take it?

Find approved instruction and know what to ask before paying.

Read the guide
Can I get my PAL entirely online?

No. Online study prepares you; approved instruction and official written and practical tests are separate. Eligible applicants can submit the licence application online. See the training guide.

Do I need to own a firearm or have experience?

No. These are introductory safety courses. You can learn and apply without owning a firearm. Your instructor supplies the training equipment; ask what to bring.

Does passing the course mean I have a licence?

No. Keep the course results, then apply. The government reviews your application before issuing a licence. Follow the application steps.

How long will the whole process take?

Course availability, result paperwork and government review all take time. The minimum waiting period is not a delivery promise. Plan your timeline.
